Corporate Overview

Company:
Headquartered in Rockville, MD, Aegis Industries is the emerging market leader of professional security solutions for military, law enforcement, corrections, and private security organizations worldwide.
Background:
Founded by US Navy SEAL Kenneth J. Stethem after the murder of his brother, SW2 Robert D. Stethem, during the 1985 hijacking of TWA 847, Aegis’ mission is clear: To Defend, Protect and Preserve Life.
Aegis recognized that the operational demands of the military, law enforcement, corrections, and private security markets required a new type class of intermediate force option to handle non-compliant individuals faster, safer and more effectively. As a result, in 2005, Aegis initiated a multi-year, multi-million dollar research and development (R&D) program that has resulted in the industry’s most advanced close-quarter hand-held intermediate force option.
Products:
The AEGIS MARK 63™ (MK63) TRIDENT is the first in a new generation of advanced intermediate force options. These Handheld, Modular, Multi-stimulus, Response Devices (HMMRDs) provide a level of scalability, safety and effectiveness that is unmatched by any other Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solution. The AEGIS MK63 is a scalable multi-stimulus option that combines radical engineering, innovative design and the industry’s first and most comprehensive medical safety research ever conducted on an intermediate force option prior to market launch.
Aegis also provides full-dimensional Maritime Security Systems (MSS) for commercial freighters, tankers and cruise liners, providing maritime vessels with an effective low-cost security solution that prevents pirates from illegally boarding commercial vessels while incorporating an effective early warning system.
Independent Research:
Aegis offers the only professional intermediate force options on the market that incorporate non-invasive NeuroMuscular Incapacitation technology. The safety research of Aegis’ NMI waveform technology was independently peer-reviewed and published prior to going to market:
- Military Medicine
- Journal of Surgical Research
- The Journal for Trauma Injury, Infection and Critical Care
